An Alarm Receiving Center (ARC) is a secure, 24-hour control room with trained experts which can receive and process alarm signals from remote sites. It is also known as a Central Monitoring Station (CMS).

Alarm Monitoring Software (called "ARC Software" here) is a system designed to receive alarm signals and to process those signals with a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the operator.

Sur-Gard is a standard alarm protocol from Tyco. It is defined as an alarm uploading protocol, mainly used in the command center.

There are four ways to integrate ARC Software with Hikvision's Alarm Panel, CCTV products, and other technologies: DC09(SIA), Hik IP Receiver, HPNetSDK, and Hik IP Receiver Pro.

DC09(SIA): A standard protocol developed by the Security Industry Association for the purpose of defining how to send events from premises equipment to an Alarm Receiving Center.

HIK IP Receiver: Hikvision's Windows-based converter that provides capability of converting Hikvision's private uplink protocol (ISUP) to other industrial protocols.

HIK IP Receiver Pro: Hikvision's Windows-based converter which realizes conversion to different industrial protocols through Hikvision's Cloud-based P2P service (Hik-ProConnect).

HPNetSDK: Hikvision's specific SDK designed for ARC integration through P2P connections.
