Targeted Industries: Banking and Finance | Healthcare | Education | Government Facilities

Solution Description

This solution automates personnel synchronization between HikCentral Professional and third-party SQL-based systems such as HR, payroll, ERP, or time attendance platforms. A Python middleware script reads user records from a SQL view, maps departments to HikCentral organizations, and uses HikCentral OpenAPI to add, update, or delete users. User Benefits

  • Automatically synchronizes personnel from SQL-based third-party systems to HikCentral Professional
  • Reduces manual user creation, update, and deletion work for system administrators
  • Keeps HikCentral user information aligned with the source HR or ERP system
  • Supports automatic update detection for employee names and department changes
  • Maintains a synchronization log with retry handling for failed records and troubleshooting

Key Features

  • SQL view-based employee data extraction from MenaITech or any compatible third-party database
  • HikCentral OpenAPI integration for add, update, and delete person operations
  • Department-to-HikCentral organization mapping using orgIndexCode exported from HikCentral
  • Hash-based change detection to identify updated employee names, departments, or status values
  • Automated periodic execution using Windows Task Scheduler with log file output

Solution Architecture

The solution uses a Python middleware script to read user data from a third-party SQL view via ODBC, check active/inactive status and sync logs, then call HikCentral Professional OpenAPI over HTTPS to add, update, or delete users. A sync log table tracks status, errors, retries, and automation through Windows Task Scheduler.

How It Works

Description: This screenshot shows the main integration folder C:\HCP_Integration, which contains the Python synchronization script, the HikCentral organization mapping CSV file, the batch file used for automation, and the generated sync log file. Explanation: All integration files are stored in one fixed path to make the solution easier to maintain, automate, and troubleshoot. The Task Scheduler runs the batch file from this folder, and the script reads the required CSV mapping file and writes logs in the same location
Description: This screenshot shows the run_hcp_sync.bat file used to execute the Python synchronization script automatically. Explanation: The batch file changes the command prompt encoding to UTF-8 to support Arabic names, moves to the integration folder, runs the Python script, and redirects all execution results to the sync_log.txt file. This allows the integration process to run silently in the background while keeping a full execution history.
Description: This screenshot shows the sync_log.txt file generated after the scheduled script execution. Explanation: The log file records each script run, including SQL connection status, organization mapping loading, active employee count, add/update/delete results, skipped records, and any errors. This file is used for monitoring, troubleshooting, and confirming that the automated synchronization is running successfully.
